The role of clinicians and health care providers has evolved dramatically, and there's a growing need to explore new approaches to ensure both personal well-being and the quality of care we provide to our communities.

Who is Lisa Duez?

Lisa Duez, LCSW, EMDRIA  Approved Consultant, and multi-business owner is a seasoned leader and passionate advocate in the fields of mental health and trauma therapy. Her journey into the world of leadership and business ownership was ignited during her formative years, as she observed both triumphs and setbacks among the adults around her who assumed leadership roles. This early fascination paved the way for her profound exploration of leadership dynamics and the intricate interplay of emotions that leaders experience.

Lisa's trajectory took a decisive turn as she assumed leadership positions within community mental health agencies. However, she quickly recognized that her leadership style didn't conform to bureaucratic norms, nor did it fully align with the needs of clinicians and clients.

In the midst of the unprecedented challenges of 2020, Lisa demonstrated remarkable resilience and vision. Despite global uncertainties, she expanded her group practice not once, but twice, transforming it into a clinician-centered haven that offers collaborative, trauma-informed care in Hampton Roads, Virginia. As the accomplished CEO of this seven-figure practice, Lisa exemplifies the essence of compassionate leadership, where caring is the cornerstone of her approach.

Lisa's dedication to the parallel process of supervision and leadership is evident in her belief that a mental health practice can serve as a nurturing community, rooted in the power of caring. Drawing on her extensive expertise as a trauma therapist with over two decades of experience, Lisa provides invaluable clinical supervision,  consultancy to individual and group practice owners, and EMDR Consultation.

Lisa recently authored the E.A.S.E framework, which quantifies a style of leadership that allows for empowerment, authenticity and growth in organizations.

An esteemed speaker and trainer, Lisa's knowledge encompasses a diverse array of topics ranging from transference and countertransference to ethics, energy psychology, trauma, and self-agency. Her involvement in the EndeAVOr Academy and collaboration with partners in organizing transformative retreats highlight her commitment to professional development, self-care, and empowerment.

For over 20 years, Lisa has been a respected member of Tidewater Community College's Adjunct Faculty, imparting her wisdom to students in the Administration of Justice Program. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role in the Virginia Community Response Network (VCRN) leadership team and is a proud graduate of Virginia's Streetwise MBA program. Lisa's philanthropic spirit shines through her voluntary contributions to the Virginia Law Enforcement Assistance Program (VALEAP), where she offers pro bono EMDR therapy.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lisa is a beacon of compassion and strength in her personal life. As a devoted law enforcement spouse and mother, as well as the proud mother of a United States Army soldier, she embodies resilience and unwavering support. Her passions extend to literature, hiking, and globe-trotting, reflecting her zest for life's multifaceted experiences.
